George Stillman, Retired NCFPD Memorial Service

George Stillman's, Celebration of Life will be held at Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church in Oakhurst, CA on April 3 at 2:00pm.

George was born in Modesto, CA to Jess Stillman and Doris Stillman Moody on April 3, 1945. He went into the arms of his Lord, Jesus Christ, on October 3, 2021, in Medford, OR. 

George grew up in Fresno, CA after living in Modesto and Eugene, OR for a short time. He graduated from Fresno High School in 1963 and attended vocational college for a short time. 

He worked for North Central Fire District for 33 years. Upon retiring, he became involved with the Madera County Sheriff's Search and Rescue for 18 years. He also became a member of the Rogue Valley Search and Rescue in February 2020. 

George loved to hike, hunt, fish, and ride his quad. He found great joy in the back country of the Sierra National Forest. He was a member of Sierra Vista Presbyterian, Westminster Presbyterian, Boy Scouts, Sierra Ambulance, and the 2 Search and Rescue programs.. 

George is survived by the love his life, Eldine, daughter, Amy Gonzales (Erik), son, Andrew Stillman, 2 grandchildren, Austin and Brooklyn Gonzales, his brothers Tom Stillman (Joyce) and Stan Stillman (Ann).

George is preceded in death by his parents, Jess Stillman and Doris Moody, his brother, John Stillman, and his stepfather, Warren Mood.   

The Stillman family would like NCFPD personnel to attend. If you would like to attend the celebration of life service, the Class A uniform has been approved for members attending.
