Chief McAfee has 21 years fire service experience in federal, State, and Local government as well as academia. Chief McAfee is a United States Marine Corps Veteran and has previously served as a Fire Chief in the Department of Defense federal fire service in CA and NJ as well as past Fresno City College Fire Program Director.
He holds a Masters degree in Emergency management and Occupational Safety and Health, Chief Fire Officer and Chief Training Officer credentials through the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE), is a graduate of the National Fire Academy (NFA) Executive Fire Officer Program and the Texas A&M Fire Service Chief Executive Officer program (FSCEO). Chief McAfee is also a registered California State Fire Instructor and serves the California State Firefighters Association (CSFA) as a Central Deputy Director.
The Deputy Fire Chief oversees the Fire Operations Division, Training Division, Fire Prevention Division, and Apparatus and Fleet maintenance.
