The Operations Division is responsible for delivering emergency services to those citizens who live, work, and visit the District. The Operations Division responds to all calls for emergency services including: incidents involving fires, emergency medical services, technical rescue and release of hazardous materials. Mutual/Auto Aid responses are provided to surrounding fire departments via aid agreements. North Central Fire Stations are located in the City of Kerman (Station 55), Kearney Park (Station 56), Biola (Station 57), and Grantland and Shields (Station 58). Station 59, the districts fifth fire station at Bullard and West, remains unstaffed while the City of Fresno continues to provide services to that area for al first alarm assignments under contract.
The North Central Fire Protection District is staffed 24 hours per day 365 days per year. Each day 18 trained professional firefighters staff these stations and provide fire protection services to approximately 230 square miles and over 50,000 people. This is accomplished by a three-shift schedule (A, B, C), comprised of one (1) Battalion Chief, four (4) Captains, five (5) Engineers and eight (8) Firefighters each shift.
